codepage: video from the live coding concert ICLC 2019
Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen and Malte Steiner (codepage) performing their new piece Surface Tension II on the 17th of January at the ICLC International Conference On Live Coding 2019 in Madrid at Nave De Terneras. For this composition they used the live coding system Tidal Cycles to process field recordings of water coming from research trips to Iceland, Finland and Denmark. Their actual laptop screens are projected behind them.
Text from the program: "Surface Tension II is a live coding performance by codepage (Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen and Malte Steiner) taking its departure point in the artists own field recorded samples of water. The composition is created through analyzing different material aspects of water using these data both concretely and conceptually, as a vital material. The piece is live coded in TidalCycles, where each sample used is created uniquely for this performance. Through the use of a multi-channel set-up the goal is to create an immersive and dynamic listening experience and in this way create sonic as well as environmental awareness. Additionally the performance will explore the collaborative and experimental potentials of live coding.”

current Apple computer not usable for pro audio
its incredible that current computers from Apple are not usable for professional audio and that a rich company like them just don't bother. The bug with the new T2 chip machines is known since April but nothing happend. It mainly concerns USB sound cards but there are also reports about Thunderbolt ones. We were discussing at Block 4 to upgrade the 2010 cheesegrater Studio Mac and my live notebook, but it seems that it won't be Apple.
